August 1-31, 2020: Fundraiser at St. Matthew’s
From our brothers and sisters in Haiti the message is DIRE. Dire need for food and medical care. Starvation and Covid 19 have swept the country. Haiti has experienced earthquakes, cholera, and hurricanes but this is a situation of added unknowns and fear. Father Romel has used what funds he has to buy masks and soap for his people. Water in Noyau is very scarce – the community well is dry. Distancing is almost impossible everywhere inside.
Can you imagine this life for you and your family?
Because of Covid 19 here Hands and Hearts cancelled our 3rd annual Taste of Haiti Dinner & Auction, our biggest fundraiser. Our goal this year was$20,000. We now have an opportunity to help alleviate some of the suffering in Haiti and to continue supporting the life sustaining programs they need right now especially the goat program, micro loans, education (elementary through high school) and clean water. HOW CAN WE HELP? August is our chance to make a difference. Throughout August the parish has designated loose offertory collections at all weekend masses AND any other donations designated for HHH and brought or mailed to the parish center until August 31st for Haiti. Spread the word far and wide. The need is so great.

Lindenwood Retreat, 2020
June 19-21, 2020—-Cancelled due to Corona virus
The Lindenwood Retreat is a special opportunity for Hands and Hearts with Haiti members to meet in person, get to know each other, work and worship together, and share ideas and plans for Hands and Hearts with Haiti. It will be held at the Lindenwood Retreat Center on the campus of Ancilla College in Donaldson, Indiana.
