Ephemir used to sell rice, beans, oil, and spices. She realized that she was not making enough money. Partnering with her daughter, who is also part of the group, they are working with her husband to raise pigs. She buys pigs in a specific market, raises them for a week or two and then resells into a different market. She is able to make partial payments each month, save $2 each week, and support the family.
She said, “My husband used to be the only one in business in the family. But, with the micro loan, my daughter and I were able to support the family as well and now we are three working together for the better of the family.”
