Assumption students creatively raise funds for sister school in Haiti

When St. Albert the Great at Assumption Academy students set out to raise funds for their sister school in Noyau, Haiti, they started small. It was a simple concept of a penny “war” against classrooms, with pennies and bills earning positive points and silver coins earning negative points.

However, with the generosity of two matching donors and the leadership of the Student Council, their collection of $2,447.83 has become a grand total of $7,343.49! This amount will cover almost half of the yearly school budget of just under $16,000.00 per year.

An awesome feat and no small miracle for these poor families to know that the students at our sister school in Ohio care about their children in Haiti.

The schoolchildren’s donation to Our Lady of Deliverance School in Noyau, Haiti is a huge contribution toward the school’s sustainability and will especially help with the start of the school year on September 1.
